Ideas of Copyrights
So last week I watched a video on the ideas that our society is one based off of creation, re-creation, and 'mutation'. And I agree with it. The video centered around the ideas that my generation is one that takes and mutates two things together. Whether it be music and video, a song from the 50's mixed with something from today or even mashing two videos together. And the issue presented was whether or not the new material had the right to be called original. Now this is always a touchy subject because nowadays most things are not original. So what is original then?
In a new era of recycled ideas it's hard to decipher what is original anymore. This is one of those subjects that even I can't answer. As much as I want to believe there is still original material out there it's almost like sifting through shiny new barbie dolls just to find that one doll that looks like nothing I've ever seen.
